End of Term
Wow, what a fantastic year we have had at Pratts Bottom. I can not believe we are at the end of the Summer Term. This year has flown by. It has been a wonderful first year here at PB and I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know all the children and parents. It is amazing to see how much the children have grown over the year. They are all ready for the challenges of the next year-after a restful summer holiday!
Thank you for all your help and support throughout this academic year, whether it was helping in class, during Forest school or on visits, with the fundraising events, or just through supporting your child’s learning at home. It all makes a difference and it really is very much appreciated. There have been so many achievements over the year and the staff are very proud of the progress that the children have made. Please take the time to browse through the photos on the website which showcase our amazing year!
Our Year 6 leavers have been little stars. I want to wish them all the best at Secondary School.
The summer holidays are a wonderful time for the children to relax and rest before the start of the Autumn Term. However, it is also important that they read as much as possible.
We are supporting the libraries’ reading challenge this summer. If you child reads 6 books they will be able to achieve a certificate and medal.
We will be sharing these certificates and medals in the first Celebration Assembly in the new year.
At the beginning of the year, Mr Linnett and I, along with the Governors, set out plans for school improvement. We are pleased that the following has been achieved:
All aspects of school leadership, management and organisation have a positive impact on standards of teaching and children’s learning. Embedded the school values in all aspects of school life including approaches to behaviour management. The children have embraced the new values and use it in everyday life around the school.
The full School Improvement Plan is available on the school’s website. In the coming days I will be outlining the targets for improvement for next year. I will be sharing these with parents in the first part of the Autumn Term.
I want to express my gratitude to the staff, who want to improve, have a mindset which welcomes high expectations and change to improve learning, and are very supportive of each other.
