Sapphire School Trip

On Wednesday, we visited two different places that were connected to our topic: Crime and Punishment.

First, we went to the London Metropolitan Archives where we learned more about Victorian punishments and saw the incredible way they store thousands and thousands of records. After lunch, we walked to The Royal Courts of Justice where we carried out a real trial of a Victorian boy who was charged with stealing gooseberries. Lola was the suspect (John Greening) and there were many witnesses who told their side of the story. The jury found that John Greening was not guilty!

We had a fantastic day and really enjoyed the activities.
