Staff Training

Many of you will be aware that staff are constantly improving their daily practice to ensure they are up-to-date and fully aware of new methods and standards. Miss Ashlin has begun her training to become a Forest School Leader and next term she will be undertaking specialist outdoor First Aid training. Sapphire class will begin going up to our Forest School site after February half term – more info on this nearer the time. Several other staff have renewed or upgraded their First Aid training this term. All teachers and teaching assistants have attended professional development workshops on Literacy, Grammar and Numeracy, some have been on PE and Science training which they have shared with colleagues on their return. During our INSET days we have all been updated on our Safeguarding knowledge, to ensure every child is as happy and as safe as possible. Much of the training we take part in is done on INSET days or after school in ‘twilight sessions’ but sometimes it is offered during the school day and whilst this can be highly inconvenient and to some extent a little unsettling for a few children, cover is well managed and handled extremely successfully. The result is well-trained, motivated, highly competent practioners who ensure the quality of their daily delivery is as good as it can possibly be. I am certainly proud of the staff here at Pratts Bottom and I am sure you will join me in thanking them for making sure that every child here feels cared for and has their needs met so that each individual is able to achieve their personal best!
