Christmas 2016

It’s Christmas! Whoopee! Has it really only been 3½ months since we came back after the long Summer break – we have done so much! The weekly reminders have detailed all the trips/events so I won’t go on about everything but there have been some highlights that I feel must get a mention!

September:- Gemstones starting school, Sapphire completing their ‘Bikeability’ Training and going on a visit to Downe House linked to their Darwin topic, ‘Jeans for Genes’ fundraising Day

October:- Global Citizen Week celebrating the influences of other cultures on modern Britain, Harvest Festival Service at All Souls, Spooky Bingo/Disco

November:- Parents’ Evenings, Sapphire visit to London Zoo again linked to their work on Evolution, Dress up Bright Day, Emerald’s trip to The London Transport Museum linked to their topic on Transport, Children in Need fundraising week, Road Safety Awareness week organised by JTAs

December:- Gemstones to see Santa at Ruxley, The Christmas Fair, A Trip to Houses of Parliament to find out more about Democracy, Gemstones to Soft Play and Tescos- all encouraging them to learn more about the world around them, KS2’s ‘Aladdin Trouble’ Panto in the village hall, whole school to The Stag to see ‘Sleeping Beauty’, Christmas dinner day, The Nativity (Rodney the stable rat), The Christmas party and of course finally – just today- Christmas Jumper Day!
