I can hardly believe it’s the end of my first year as Head Teacher of Pratts Bottom Primary School and what a year it has been! I am not going to go over old news since my weekly reminders do that every Friday but what I will recommend is that you take a look at our school website – it is still a work in progress but the gallery section in particular has many wonderful images of the vast array of activities we have enjoyed throughout the year.
All that remains for me to say is over the next few weeks - Stay Healthy, Happy and Keep Safe! See you on the 7th September at 8:45am.
Monday at LEGOLAND was an absolute triumph and I must say a huge thank you to Mrs Lippert and Miss Ashlin who organised the whole day - down to the very last detail – military like precision ensured everyone was safe and happy at all times! A further thank you must go to the volunteers who were invited as a ‘treat’ for all their hard work in school on a regular weekly basis – the ‘treat’ seemed somewhat dubious as temperatures soared to 35 degrees but everyone reported the day had been fabulous. Finally, I must say a massive thank you to your children who literally never moaned about the heat, the queues, the traffic, not even when having queued for almost an hour, a ride shut down and we were turned away – not a single scowl! How amazing is that? They were polite, patient, grateful, energetic, fun to be with, encouraging of each other and their adults who sometimes got the collywobbles (me!). They were in short PERFECT and you can be as proud as punch – I know I am!
Tuesday saw ‘Pratts Bottom’s got Talent’ totally organised by the children themselves (with your help too no doubt) and my goodness they certainly have got talent! Simon Cowell better watch for some of our lot – I absolutely loved it but as usual the bits that REALLY got me were when the children oooh-ed and ahhh-ed and laughed out loud, when sibling acts went up without awkwardness – as ever encouraging and joyous – fantastic – Miss Ashlin told me it’s one of her favourite days of the year and that I’d love it … she was right!
